-First there were 21, then there was 8, now only 4 remain to be titled Caribbean Champion

Tuesday, December 9 - Montego Bay, Jamaica:  As the 2008 Digicel Caribbean Championships’ come to an end in less than a week, 4 nations will now compete for the ultimate prize: US$120,000 and the title of Caribbean Football Champion.

Jamaica, Cuba, Grenada and Guadeloupe will now enter into the DCC Semi-Finals and have gained qualification for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup to be played in July, 2009.

The 2008 edition of the DCC has brought many exciting moments and many surprises: Grenada not only making it to Final Round but also gaining entry into the Semi –Finals and first time entry to the CONCACAF Gold Cup; Reigning Caribbean Champions Haiti not being able to make the Semi-Finals; and 8 time winner of the DCC, Trinidad & Tobago, failing to qualify for CONCACAF Gold Cup by being shut out of the DCC Semi-Finals.

The Caribbean has also seen many emerging football talents such as Hat-Trickers: Guadeloupe’s Mickael Antoine-Curier, Grenada’s Kithson Bain, St. Kitts’ Jevon Francis, Barbados’ Norman Forde and Bermuda’s Reginald Lambe.

With 4 matches left, Football fans across the region will be watching live as Jamaica, Cuba, Grenada and Guadeloupe battle it out.  The match to watch: Grenada vs. Cuba on Thursday December 11.  Grenada has pulled a few tricks out of their football boots, but will they be able to conquer the Lions of the Caribbean?

Now with only 2 match days left, The Caribbean wait with baited breathe to see who will be crowned 2008 Digicel Caribbean Champion.

Match 14: 7PM – Cuba vs. Grenada

FINALS – National Stadium, Kingston, Jamaica Sunday, December 14

3rd Place: 3:30PM – Loser of Match 13 vs. Loser of Match 14

Championship: 6PM – Winner of Match 13 vs. Winner of Match 14
