The Digicel Kick Start Football Clinics, beginning in January 2008, takes place in 8 countries across the Caribbean. During the eight 3-day clinics John Barnes will observe and mentor players at the U-20 level in all 8 territories to select 6 players he believes possess the skill that Barclay’s Premier League and other international scouts are looking for.

Opportunity - a footballer's dream
The selected 6 players will get a fantastic opportunity to train with Barclay’s Premier League club Sunderland AFC’s young Academy footballers and learn from the international expertise of the club’s youth coaching staff.  Barclay’s Premier League is one of the world’s most watched leagues.

Sunderland AFC is working with Digicel to promote its brand in the Caribbean and will host Digicel’s UK training camp at the Academy of Light, the club’s state of the art training ground.
